Animal Aid provide a class where your puppy can begin to learn to socialise and interact with humans and other dogs; is a vital part in a young dog’s development. It is important to start teaching your puppy early if you want an adult dog who is well socialised with both people and other dogs.

These classes are also a great opportunity for new owners to learn all about their canine companion, and about canine behaviour in general. Each week covers a different aspect about the development of your pup, and what you need to know to make sure that this part of their lives is both fun and instructional.

Our classes are held over a four week period, and is open for all puppies aged between 8 and 14 weeks old. After attending the class, you will receive:

An information booklet with loads of useful tips relating to raising your new puppy as well as information on puppy health care. A pup that is being socialised with people and other pups at the most critical time in their lives, in a safe environment. A show bag with lots of goodies for you to try. Most of all, you will both have fun!

Our classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6.30-7.30pm, in our spacious ‘puppy-proof’ Education Facility at the Animal Aid Coldstream Shelter- a safe environment out of the weather. Please call us for a booking, as spots are limited due to the size of the class (8 puppies). Total cost for the course is $90 for the 4 weeks and all classes ar5e run by a qualified Vet Nurse.

You will need to bring a puppy that has had their first puppy vaccination (usually given at 6 to 8 weeks of age). Also, a hungry pup - no dinner first, please! This makes training using food rewards more successful.

If you have never thought of attending a puppy preschool, then we urge you to consider doing so. It is a great experience for both the puppy and the owner, and can set you on the right path to having a great relationship with you pet.
